Pre Season

Thursday evening i took my mom to the fourth pre-season game of the year. Yup, the fourth. the one where all the scrubs play, nobody really cares, but it's still football in buffalo and (thanks to the "Bills in Toronto Initiative") the first game of the year in the Ralph. Hobo couldn't make it to this one, so i sucked it up and used our two $60 tix to see a good solid set of downs by the third stringers. The highlights of the night:
3 - first game to sit in the new seats, great view (30 yd line).
2 - knowledge that the home opener in a week and a half would be a thousand times better
1 - hands down: Wings at Duffs before the game

seriously, when i had to spend $120 for two seats to a game of that caliber, it's pretty sad. i'm not sure extending the season by a game or two is a great idea given the physical stress on the players (though i could get over that), but four pre-season games is insane, and charging season ticket holders (your most loyal fans, by the way) full price to see Gibran Hamden throw the rock to Steve Johnson is a little bit of a slap in the face.

but exactly one week from today, we'll be driving back to central PA celebrating opening day, a win, and the kick off (for real) to our season ticket experience.

Welcome to Buffalo!

So this is the first year for Pohono and Hobo to be full fledged Season Ticket Holders to our beloved Buffalo Bills. I am Pohono. I will invite ol' Hobo to post at his leisure on the blog if he wants. No particular agenda other than to have a place to brain dump.

Here's how it happened... I grew up in Hamburg, the suburbs of Buffalo. Been a Bills fan as long as i can remember. Life took me to Baltimore after college (boo ravens, and HUGE boo to ravens fans), then i relocated to central PA about three and a half years ago. Met this guy at my new job who was a closet bills fan - he went to high school with a then-player for the bills. my first year there, we rounded up some buddys and rented an RV to go to a game at the Ralph. second year, same deal. third year rolls around, and he stops in my office early spring and says "lets get season tickets this year". i said no. a month later i said no, but maybe. two months later i said yes. so here we are.

Go Bills.
