Victory Blog!

Well, i'm pickin' the bills to win tomorrow, just like every Sunday. But this victory blog is in honor of Pohono and his special ability to prove Hobo and Stogie wrong!

Rewind six months, folks... sitting in the office at work, and Stogie comes in to show me a website about a guy that carves and sells his own pipes. Stogie is thinking i should buy one. I'm thinking thats really cool - never had a pipe, but sounds like a heck of an idea. But wait... This guy online - he says he starts with "blanks" to carve them. Whats a blank? one quick google search later, i find out that you can order blanks pre-drilled and ready to smoke. So what do i say? "Dude, i could do that". Stogie - no way. Hobo - no way. Me - hell yes - i can do that! not only can i carve a pipe - i can carve a Buffalo Bills pipe! Hobo - lets wager...

So here's the photo story of The Victory of Pohono!!!

These are the Blanks that came in the mail. My first pipe was a standard design - came out great, but i don't have the pictures of that one handy, so we'll focus on the buffalo!

After a LOT of hours of sanding and applying texture, the first coat of stain went on...

And there she is - the finished product.

So what was the wager? pre-carving, Hobo laid out that if 3 of 5 people in the parking lot opening weekend recognize whatever blob of wood i carve as a bills logo, i win a pouch of high quality tobacco. As he saw it come together, he changed the bet about 10 times since i was on track for a win, but end of the day, i went five for five and just waiting to collect...

So if you're in B-lo next weekend for the houston game, swing over to the camper lot, find me, and you'll get to witness the Smokin' Buffalo enjoying the sweet tobacco-smelling scent of victory!

A few days late and i just don't care...

Team Buffalo - i'ma let ya finish, but first i gotta say i'm just not getting excited about the bills these last few weeks. Nothing like a good tailgate (pics coming), and it's been a ton of fun going up to the games, but just brutal to watch... even the J-E-T-S Suck Suck Suck game, while posting a W, doesn't make me feel good about the team...

I will say this now, and hope that it remains truth for the rest of my football watching days: The Bills/Browns game at the Ralph was, without a doubt, the worst football game i've ever seen in my life. EVER! If i ever see one that bad again, i'm gonna gouge out my eyes.

So, lets hit rewind. The Saints game... Where did it all go wrong? If i'm not mistaken, the offence was down at the Big Tree Inn tossing them back while the Erie Community College football team was trying to score a few points on the Saints. The D looked great, until they wore down in the fourth, but the O was pitiful. So what do we do in Bills-land when this happens? Yep - we focus on the tailgate.

Suhoski and I left Harrisburg at 6:15am, rolling fast to Beautiful Orchard Park. In record time, we pulled into the infamous Lot 1, threw up the tailgate tent, and started the fun... Hanging out with some new friends from Canada, tailgating, tossing the football, grilling some brawts... feeling kinda guilty about the poor guy who got talked into selling imported chinese "authentic" hats and got arrested... Good times, friends!
